Do you want a people person?

After a long career in Human Resources, I am absolutely a people person, and certainly enjoy all that life has to offer which includes making people around me happy. You need a people person performing your ceremony. I love meeting people from all walks of life, and I certainly experienced that in my other career as an Australian Rules Football umpire for over 40 years where I was exposed to so many different people in varying careers and socio-economic situations, but I realise that all have the same need in life – to be happy. I would love the opportunity to be a part of one of the happiest days of your life. I’ll make the atmosphere relaxed so all can enjoy the occasion.

I’d love to meet you both in person and help to tailor a meaningful ceremony that would meet your needs.

Why me? Well, my maturity and life-experiences ensure that I could accommodate most situations, even if your requests are a little out of the ordinary, I’m sure we could make them work. Even if you’ve got a particular theme in mind, I’m sure we could have fun with that and make it work.

On the big day, I’ll remember it’s all about the happy couple, not me, I’m just playing a small part to ensure the ceremony flows as you require, and of course we tick all the legal boxes!

After a long career in Human Resources, I am absolutely a people person, with contacts in all walks of life.

Becoming a celebrant was always a dream, and being able to play a small part in a couples' very important day is extremely fulfilling.

After hanging up the whistle as a footy umpire my new sporting obsession is lawn bowls. I'm throwing myself into this, and although I'm still a learner I'm loving it!

The Pricing Structure

Wedding ceremonies start at $650 depending on time involved and distance to travel. All the details will be discussed at our first meeting.

Vow Renewal ceremonies start at $500 depending on time involved and distance to travel. All the details will be discussed at our first meeting.

Naming ceremonies start at $400 depending on time involved and distance to travel. An extra $100 will be added for each additional child. All the details will be discussed at our first meeting.

In regard to travel costs, there will be an additional charge of $1.50 per kilometre if I am required to travel more than 50 kilometres (100 kilometres return) from my home in Mordialloc, Victoria. If air travel and overnight accommodation are required these costs will also be factored in.

For all ceremonies, a $100 deposit (non-refundable – see Refund Policy) is paid at the time of booking. In the case of a wedding this is when the Notice Of Intention to Marry form is completed. The remainder being paid 14 days prior to the event.

Refund Policy

As indicated above the deposit is non-refundable but of course there are circumstances where a ceremony is either cancelled or postponed.

Postponement by couple

Notice of Intention to Marry is active for 18 months so the deposit will be held over to new date. For all events, the Couple will be required to pay a postponement fee of $200 and this fee is non-refundable. The Couple will be responsible for all other costs involved with postponement including ceremony venue. A new schedule of fees may be issued to cover any increase in costs during this time.

Cancellation by couple

In the event of cancellation of the event no later than 14 days prior to the event, any funds (except the deposit and/or Postponement fee) paid by the Couple will be refunded in full. In the case of air travel or accommodation costs, this will only be refunded if refundable options were selected when booking. In the case of non-refundable options, these unfortunately cannot be refunded.

In the event of cancellation of the event within 14 days of the event date, the celebrant may refund fees paid by the Couple (except the deposit and/or Postponement fee), depending on the circumstances. A refund in this regard is at the discretion of the Celebrant. In the case of air travel or accommodation costs, this will only be refunded if refundable options were selected when booking. In the case of non-refundable options, these unfortunately cannot be refunded.

Cancellation by Celebrant

In the event that I am unable to attend an event, 100% of funds paid by the Couple will be refunded, including deposit. I will also provide you with replacement options.
